Meet 15 year old Mia Nina, model, philanthropist and micro influencer whose journey has just begun. The young Oceanside teen has made a splash into the young Hollywood space by being seen on the red carpets this past year. That is the fun past time for Mia Nina while she truly loves being able to help with organizations such as ARE animal rescue and JABCECC (Judith A Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center). As a young lady in the media space Mia knows what a great opportunity she has to be able to make a difference and hopefully guide the way for some others. Mia Nina’s Catholic faith is a huge part of her heart and knowing where she comes from.
Mia also works on her dance craft being that she did competitive dance before COVID and decided to concentrate just on her technique after things opened back up. She has always loved to express herself through dance and when her father became injured in Afghanistan back in 2012 she used dance to help with her emotional expression and as a therapy in a way for herself. Mia found her love of modeling about 3 yrs ago. She mostly does editorial shoots but also loves being able to shoot for brands and products. Mia Nina walked the catwalk for the first time this last fashion season at NYFW and looks forward to going back in the Fall. Promoting a positive body image is a constant for her and Mia is very excited to have recently signed on with @kilogearcut to help deliver that message to Gen Z.
As an upcoming teen model Mia Nina is very excited about covering the Beauty section for Teen Vibes Magazine @teenvibesmagazine for the next year and she cannot wait to share all the fun that has to offer via her Instagram! @mianinaofficial. Being a Teen Vibes Magazine Teen is a fun step to her future and adding something cool and non-traditional to her college applications with journalism is a great perk!
Opportunities when presented should not be thrown to the side and if not now… then when? So many different turns to get this young teen to her career destination but for now, she is going to enjoy the journey! Join Mia in her journey….@mianinaofficial, tiktok mianinaofficial.
When did you fall for fashion?
It all started when I started being allowed on Instagram. Seeing everyones unique style of clothes and fashion. That was 3 years ago maybe?
Would you wear the very first outfit you put together now?
Ha! Definitely not.
What is the best part of creating your look?
I do love to match my outfits to my moods.
Do you like a theme when it comes to putting together a look?
Not so much a theme when putting together my fits but my comfort zone with style is playful with a little bit of edge. I do like themed editorial photoshoots though!! I would shoot those every day of the week if I could.
What is the most consistent advice you have to give when trying a new look?
To be open minded and remember if the clothes aren't working, you can always change them. Besides...clothes are meant to accentuate us, not define us.
Are there any challenges to coming up with THE vision you know is just perfect for yourself but might not be ready to take the leap?
Yes for sure. I do think a bit too much about who I am going to be around but, at the end of the day, I think a lot of teens and pre teens are like that.
How important is branding when it comes to style?
I love the concepts that brands come up with to help create their identity and who they are trying to connect with. I would say branding is very important when some people are looking to find their own sense of style...they can find themselves through different fashion houses and their designs.
Is there a style that is a NO GO every time?
Personally, Dressing "Emo" is not my thing.
What is a trend that is always a YES?!
I love wearing streetwear because it can be both comfortable and stylish.
How do you set yourself apart to keep your uniqueness?
Whoa! That's a good question. I guess I just do my best to not let other people's actions influence me. No matter who I'm spending time with...I'm always myself and I never try to be anyone else.
Where does your confidence come from?
Spending time around amazing people that are encouraging and kind. Also spending more time in front of the camera and learning more about myself has helped.
What is the most daring decision you have made so far in your career?
Either doing an editorial photoshoot in zero degree weather wearing a couture gown or walking the runway in New York Fashion Week.
What is the most daring style you've done?
I wore a record hairpiece for a shoot out in the desert once.
Is there anything in your closet you're updating right now that you would like to pass on to others?
Definitely turning my closet into Summer wardrobe season by taking some of my old jeans and cutting them into shorts for the beach. Always fun to be creative.
How can people follow your fashion journey?
Best way right now is my Instagram. @mianinaofficial
Any upcoming projects you want to share before you go!?
Of course! I am doing the Beauty Section for Teen Vibes Magazine. Really excited about that as well as some fun shoots scheduled during this summer. Then back out to NYFW for Fall.
Last but not least, leave us with your best style advice you've received EVER.
If you are tall...own it and wear the heels! ha!
